Ingredients
- Seven big eggs
- 4 cups of bleached all-purpose flour, or 500 grams,
- 6 tablespoons of water, 2 teaspoons of salt
- room temperature butter
Instructions
- InstructionsBring to a boil a sizable saucepan of water with a strainer insert. To keep dough from adhering to a spaetzle press, lightly grease the interior. tions
- In a medium dish, crack the eggs and whisk them well. Combine the water, salt, and flour. Mix the items together with a wooden spoon.
- For about 4 minutes, continue to stir the mixture in a circular motion from bottom to top to include air.
- About two-thirds of the dough should be placed in the spaetzle press.
- Stop pressing it when the dough is about an inch long over the boiling water. To remove the dough from the press, use a knife. After each cut, stir.
- Spaetzle should be cooked for two minutes. It will be resting atop the surface. Drain the spaetzle by raising the strainer insert out of the water.
- In a dish, place the cooked spaetzle. To prevent the spaetzle from sticking, add a teaspoon or two of butter and whisk to melt it.
- With the remaining dough, repeat the cooking process in batches.
- Serve right away, place in the fridge or freezer in a sealed container. Microwaves can be used to reheat spaetzle (defrost first).
- To reheat, warm in the microwave on high for 30 second intervals.
